Alfred Hitchcock

Alfred Hitchcock was his own best publicist. He introduced his trailers in person and his name often sat above the stars on the poster. The artwork for Rear Window, Vertigo and Psycho is some of the most famous in cinema, and the later films, Torn Curtain, Topaz and Frenzy, are where original paper is still easy to find.

Much of our Hitchcock comes from Italy, where each film was sold with sets of fotobuste, the large photographic lobby cards shown outside cinemas. We also hold posters from the 1983 re-releases, when Rear Window, Vertigo and three other titles came back to cinemas after years out of circulation, and his films on DVD.
