Stephen Frears made his feature debut with Gumshoe in 1971, spent years in British television, then broke through with My Beautiful Laundrette. Stephen Frears film posters move from London comedy to costume drama in Dangerous Liaisons, American noir in The Grifters and royal stories such as The Queen and Victoria & Abdul.
