Robert Siodmak film posters

From The Crimson Pirate to Custer of the West

Robert Siodmak left Germany in the 1930s and became one of Hollywood's great thriller directors of the 1940s, with films such as The Spiral Staircase, before swapping shadows for swashbuckling with Burt Lancaster. Robert Siodmak film posters here run from that Technicolor adventure into his later European work.

Collecting Robert Siodmak film posters

The Crimson Pirate is the heart of it: a run of Italian fotobuste from 1952, more from a re-release, and German posters including a 1970 re-release A1. Custer of the West comes as an Australian daybill and an Argentine one sheet, The Whistle at Eaton Falls as a US one sheet, and The Fight for Rome and The Devil Strikes at Night as Belgian posters. Katia is a US insert under its American title, Magnificent Sinner.
